Jewellery Care
Sterling Silver
Our silver pieces are crafted from solid 925 sterling silver 92.5% pure silver, strengthened with alloy for durability.
Silver naturally reacts with oxygen, moisture and sulphur in the air. This reaction causes darkening over time (tarnish). It’s not damage, it’s simply the nature of the metal.
Humidity, salt air, sweat and chemicals will speed this up.
To Maintain Your Silver
-
Store in a cool, dry place when not worn.
-
Keep in a pouch or sealed box to slow oxidation.
-
Dry immediately if it gets wet.
-
Avoid chlorine, salt water, cleaning products and harsh chemicals.
-
Apply cologne or moisturiser before putting jewellery on.
-
Use a proper silver polishing cloth when needed.
-
Wear it often — natural skin oils help protect the surface.
Textured and oxidised pieces may darken deeper over time. This can enhance the detail. If you prefer a brighter finish, a professional polish will restore it.
Gold
Solid gold is more resistant to tarnish than silver, but it is a softer metal, especially in higher carats.
Scratches and surface marks will happen with wear. This isn’t a flaw. It’s honest ageing.
To Care for Gold Pieces
-
Remove during heavy lifting or manual work.
-
Avoid chlorinated pools and hot spas.
-
Keep away from harsh chemicals.
-
Store separately to prevent scratching.
-
Clean gently with warm water, mild soap and a soft brush.
-
Dry with a lint-free cloth.
Gold can always be professionally polished if you want to refresh the finish.
